Okay friends, woke up late again today – classic school morning madness. Grabbed my long hair thinking “ugh, gotta do something or it’ll tangle into a bird’s nest.” Remembered promising to try beginner-friendly school hairstyles, so here’s exactly what I did:

First up, the “Half-Up Knot”
Snatched my hairbrush and roughly pulled the top section of my hair above my ears. Held it like a messy little ponytail near my crown. Twisted the whole chunk twice until it kinda coiled, then shoved a small claw clip right into the twist. Bam – it held! Took maybe 15 seconds. Left the rest of my hair hanging loose. Super tidy look for first period.
Next, the “Low Twisted Ponytail”
For math class, wanted it totally off my neck. Brushed everything back into a low ponytail at my nape, secured it loosely with a hair tie. Grabbed a small section of hair from underneath the ponytail, near the tie. Wrapped that section around the base to hide the tie, tucked the end underneath, and stabbed a bobby pin through it. Looked fancy but literally took two minutes.
After lunch: “Scrunchie Space Buns”

Post-gym sweaty hair disaster. Split hair into two messy pigtails high on my head – didn’t even part it straight. Twisted each pigtail around itself into a bun shape, then stretched a big scrunchie over each one. Let some wispy bits fall out on purpose. Cute, hid the grease, zero skill needed.
What worked? No mirrors were screamed at. Seriously. The claw clip and scrunchie buns saved my life when hands were clumsy. Biggest win? Realizing messy is totally okay – loose pieces actually made it look intentional. Saved at least 20 minutes this morning. Try wrapping/twisting stuff then just clipping or tying – that’s the beginner secret right there!
