Easy Access to Mongkok Dim Sum East Coast? Simple Transportation Guide Inside!

The Plan

Last Saturday I woke up craving proper Hong Kong style dim sum real bad. Remembered hearing about this place called Mongkok Dim Sum over at East Coast, but damn – that area feels like another country from where I live. No clue about buses or anything. Decided to figure out the cheapest way to get there without burning cash on grab.

Figuring Out the Route

First thing – opened Google Maps and typed “Mongkok Dim Sum East Coast”. Saw it’s near those big malls by the waterfront. Checked the bus options. Took me like 15 minutes squinting at the screen cause it showed three different bus numbers stopping nearby.

Wrote down the bus numbers on my hand with pen:

  • 13
  • 15
  • 10C

Pro tip – bring small coins. Last time I tried paying with 50 bucks, driver almost threw me off the bus.

The Journey

Walked to the bus stop near my flat around 10AM. Saw bus 10C coming first, hopped on quick. Paid exact change – felt like a genius. Sat by the window scrolling IG while counting stops. Almost missed mine cause some auntie’s shopping cart blocked the view! Jumped up last second yelling “Stop please!” like crazy person.

Saw Mongkok’s bright yellow signboard the moment I stepped off. Total travel time? Only 40 minutes door-to-door. Spent less than 5 bucks too. Easiest thing ever once you know the bus numbers.

Dim Sum Payoff

Got their famous custard buns – came steaming hot in bamboo baskets. Shrimp dumplings? Exploded with flavor. Best part was telling my friends later: “Nah didn’t grab, took bus only!” Their shocked faces were priceless. Might go again next week since now I know 15 comes even more frequently.
