Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this place, City View, where they got them dim sum thingies. I ain’t no fancy food critic or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is, you know?

First off, finding this place ain’t too hard. It’s right there on Commercial Street in San Francisco, near that Portsmouth Square Garage. You see that park elevator? Yep, it’s right there. Easy peasy, even for an old gal like me. They got a number too, somethin’ like 94111, or maybe it’s 94108, can’t rightly remember. But folks in the city, they know where it is, I reckon.
Now, about them dim sum. They got all sorts of little dishes, you know? Like, little dumplings filled with stuff. Some got meat, some got veggies. My favorite? Well, I kinda like them duck buns. They’re soft and fluffy, and the duck inside is real tasty. And them string beans, they ain’t bad neither. Nice and crunchy, just the way I like ’em. Oh, and the veggie dumplings, those are good too, especially if you ain’t in the mood for meat.
Some folks say this place is a tourist trap, but I don’t know ’bout that. Seemed alright to me. The food’s good, and the folks workin’ there, they’re real friendly. They bring them carts around, you know, with all the food on ’em. You just point at what you want, and they give it to ya. Fast service, that’s what I like. No sittin’ around waitin’ forever for your food.
- Duck buns: Fluffy and tasty.
- String beans: Nice and crunchy.
- Veggie dumplings: Good if you don’t want meat.
- Honey walnut prawns: Heard some folks like ’em, but I ain’t tried ’em myself.
Now, listen up, ’cause this is important. If you’re plannin’ on goin’ there on the weekend, you best be ready to wait. It gets crowded, real crowded. Folks linin’ up out the door, tryin’ to get a taste of that dim sum. So, if you ain’t got the patience for that, maybe go durin’ the week, when it’s a bit quieter.
They got all kinds of folks eatin’ there, too. Young folks, old folks, families, couples. Even saw some fancy-lookin’ folks in there, the kind that probably know all ’bout them different kinds of teas and stuff. Me? I just stick to water. Can’t be wastin’ my money on fancy drinks when there’s good food to be had.

I heard some folks sayin’ this City View place is the best dim sum in San Francisco. Well, I ain’t tried all the dim sum places in the city, so I can’t say for sure. But I can tell ya, it’s darn good. And that’s good enough for me.
They even got that Chinatown Night Market thing sometimes, on Grant Avenue. They sell dim sum there too, and snacks and desserts. Sounds like a good time, but I ain’t been yet. Maybe next time I’m in the city.
And if you’re one of them vegan or vegetarian types, they got stuff for you too. So don’t worry ’bout that. They got somethin’ for everyone, I reckon.
So, there ya have it. My take on City View dim sum. It’s good food, friendly folks, and easy to find. Just be ready for a wait if you go on the weekend. And don’t forget to try them duck buns, they’re the best!
Oh, and one more thing. They say it’s a good place for kids too. So if you got a bunch of young’uns to feed, this might be the place to go. Just make sure they don’t make too much of a mess, ya hear?

And that’s all I gotta say ’bout that. Go on and try it for yourself. You might just like it.
