Okay, so yesterday I decided to check out Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum. I’d heard some good things, and, well, I’m always up for some dim sum. So, I grabbed my friend and we headed over.

First thing we did was find the place. It wasn’t too hard, pretty centrally located. We walked in and it was busy! Like, really busy. That’s usually a good sign, right? We put our names down with the hostess, and she said it’d be about a 20-minute wait. No biggie, we were prepared for that.
We hung out by the entrance, people-watching. Lots of families, couples, groups of friends – a real mix. After what felt like forever (but was probably closer to 30 minutes), our name was called.
The Food
We were seated at a table near the window, which was nice. The server came over pretty quickly and handed us menus, both the regular one and a little dim sum checklist. We started marking things down – har gow, siu mai, char siu bao, you know, the classics. We also ordered some tea, just to get things started.
The food started arriving pretty fast. The carts were constantly whizzing by, piled high with bamboo steamers. It’s kind of overwhelming, in a good way! Everything looked so good, and it was hard to resist just grabbing everything.
- The har gow (shrimp dumplings) were plump and juicy, with a really delicate wrapper.
- The siu mai (pork and shrimp dumplings) were flavorful, with a good balance of meat and shrimp.
- The char siu bao (barbecue pork buns) were soft and fluffy, and the filling was sweet and savory. Perfect!
We also tried a few other things, like the sticky rice in lotus leaf and some pan-fried turnip cakes. Everything was pretty solid, honestly. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely tasty and satisfying.

After we were completely stuffed, we flagged down our server and asked for the check. It was pretty reasonable, especially considering how much we ate. We paid up, left a tip, and waddled out of there, happy and full.
Overall, I’d say Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum is a good spot for a casual dim sum brunch. It’s not fancy, but the food is good, the service is efficient, and the prices are fair. I’d definitely go back again.
