Oh boy, you talkin’ ’bout that dim sum buffet in Singapore? That city place, right? Heard lots about it. My neighbor’s grandson, he went there, said it was fancy, all those little foods. Lots of choices in Singapore, I hear.

This one place, they call it, uh, Hai Tien Lo. Sounds like a fish or somethin’. This chef fella, Ricky Leung, he’s the big shot there. They got this thing, “Yum Cha Lunch,” they call it. Sounds like a dance, huh? $78 on regular days, that’s a lot of money! And $98 on them weekends! Gotta be somethin’ special for that price, I reckon.
Then there’s this other one, Ju Signatures. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They say it’s for them Cantonese foods, all fried up and tasty. I like fried, but too much ain’t good for ya, you know?
And Beng Hiang Restaurant. This one been around a long time, they say. Over 40 years! That’s longer than I been married to my old man! Must be doin’ somethin’ right. Family place, good for kids, I guess. They gotta eat too, right?
Now, this one’s in a big hotel, Intercontinental Hotel. Big fancy place. They got this Man Fu Yuan place, weekends only. Over 40 dishes! Can you believe it? 40! My old table ain’t even that big. So many choices, you wouldn’t know what to pick!
- Hai Tien Lo – Yum Cha Lunch (expensive!)
- Ju Signatures – Fried Cantonese food
- Beng Hiang Restaurant – Old family place
- Man Fu Yuan – In a fancy hotel, 40+ dishes
Yum Cha, they say that means “drink tea.” And dim sum, that’s the little foods. Over here, we just say we’re goin’ to eat! Don’t need all them fancy words. But folks understand. They know what you mean when you say either one, I guess. Those city folks sure like their tea and little snacks, don’t they?

This other place, Red House Seafood. Seafood, huh? I like fish. They got a dim sum buffet too. Lunchtime. $36.80 for the grown-ups, $19.80 for the little ones. Weekends, it’s more, $42.80 and $22.80. Still a lot of money if you ask me. But hey, it’s Singapore, everything’s expensive there, right? They got a menu online I heard, but I don’t know about that computer stuff.
They say you gotta call ahead, make a, what do they call it, a “reservation.” ‘Cause they get crowded. Lots of people want those little foods, I guess. This Yum Cha place, they got a high tea thing too. Tuesdays to Fridays, $32.80 for adults, $16.80 for kids. High tea, what’s that all about? Sounds like somethin’ them rich folks do.
This one called, uh, Wangi Garden, they have this dim sum buffet too. Mondays to Fridays, they say. $19.90. That’s a bit more like it. Still a lot for me, but cheaper than them other places, I reckon.
All these dim sum buffets in Singapore, so many choices! Makes my head spin. Back in my day, we just ate what Ma cooked. No buffets, no choices. But these city folks, they got it all, don’t they?
This dim sum, it’s like a whole world of little foods. Steamed, fried, all sorts. I bet there’s somethin’ for everyone. Even picky eaters like my grandson, he’d probably find somethin’ he liked.

If you’re ever in Singapore, and you got some money to spend, maybe you should try one of these dim sum buffets. Sounds like an adventure. Just remember to make that “reservation” thing, or you might be waitin’ a long time! And don’t eat too much, you hear? Save some room for dessert! They probably got lots of fancy desserts too.
Me, I’m happy with my simple food. But it’s fun to hear about all these fancy places. Maybe one day I’ll win the lottery and go to Singapore myself. Then I can try all that dim sum! Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Until then I will just dream about those Singapore dim sum buffets!
