So, the other day, I got this craving for dim sum. You know how it hits sometimes? Just gotta have those little steamed baskets of goodness. I remembered hearing about a place called Dim Sum Go Go, seen the name pop up here and there. Decided, okay, let’s give this a shot. Why not?

Getting there wasn’t too bad. Hopped on the subway, walked a few blocks. Found the place tucked away. Looked busy enough, which I usually take as a good sign. Went inside, got seated pretty quickly, actually. Place had a vibe, you know? Bustling, noisy, smells of food everywhere – typical dim sum joint feel, which I like.
Checking Out the Menu
Then came the main event: tackling the dim sum go go menu. They handed me this paper menu, the kind you mark up with a pencil. Lots of choices, maybe too many? I mean, they had all the classics, which is good. Your har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork dumplings), char siu bao (BBQ pork buns). But they also had some stuff I hadn’t seen everywhere.
- Shrimp dumplings (Har Gow) – Gotta get these, right? Standard test.
- Pork Siu Mai – Another classic.
- Soup Dumplings – Always a bit tricky, hope they don’t break.
- Turnip Cakes – I like mine crispy.
- Some veggie dumplings – Tried to be a little healthy, maybe?
- Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf – Love unwrapping these things.
I probably went a bit overboard marking things off. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach with dim sum. The waiter came by, glanced at my checklist like, “You sure about all this?” Yeah, yeah, I’m sure. Let’s do it.
The Food Arrives
Food started rolling out pretty fast. Little steamers piling up on the table. Looked pretty good, presentation was decent, nothing super fancy but clean.
Okay, digging in. The har gow were solid. Nice wrapper, good chunk of shrimp inside. The siu mai were decent too, nice and porky. Soup dumplings were… okay. One broke when I picked it up, spilled the soup. Always a risk, I guess. The broth inside the others was tasty though.

The turnip cakes were pan-fried well, got that crispy edge I like. Veggie dumplings were fine, nothing to write home about but a nice change from all the meat. The sticky rice? That was actually really good. Packed with flavor, opened up that leaf and the smell just hit you. Good stuff.
Service was efficient, if not overly friendly. They kept the tea coming, cleared plates fast. It’s the kind of place where they want to turn tables over, you know? Get people in and out. Which is fine, it’s dim sum, not a five-course dinner.
Final Thoughts
So, Dim Sum Go Go. Was it mind-blowing? Maybe not the absolute best dim sum I’ve ever had in my life, but it was definitely good. Solid. Hit the spot for that craving. The menu had plenty to choose from, maybe even a few unique things alongside the standards.
It felt like a reliable spot. You know what you’re getting. It’s busy, it’s loud, the food comes fast, and it tastes pretty darn good. Would I go back? Yeah, probably. Especially if I was in the area and that dim sum urge struck again. It gets the job done, and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
