Okay, so I’ve been on this gluten-free kick for a while now, and let me tell you, finding good pizza is a STRUGGLE. Especially here in Bangalore. I mean, I love Indian food, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you just crave a good ol’ pizza, you know?
So, I started my mission. My quest for the holy grail of gluten-free pizza in Bangalore. First, I scoured the internet. I mean, I went deep. Blogs, forums, Zomato, everything. I made a list of places that even mentioned gluten-free options.
The Contenders
- Place 1: This fancy Italian place. Super pricey, but I figured, hey, maybe it’s worth it?
- Place 2: A more casual spot, known for their thin-crust pizzas. I was hopeful!
- Place 3: A little bakery that advertised gluten-free crusts as a special order. Hmm, intriguing.
Then, I started my pizza pilgrimage. I tried Place 1 first. Big mistake. The crust was…cardboard-y. Like, seriously, I think I could’ve built a small house with it. And for the price? Nope. Not happening.
Place 2 was next. Better, I’ll give them that. The crust was thinner, definitely more palatable. But it was still missing that… oomph. That chewy, slightly crispy, perfect pizza crust texture. It just wasn’t quite there.
Finally, I dragged myself to Place 3, the little bakery. I almost didn’t go, I was so discouraged. I called ahead to make sure they had the gluten-free crust, and the lady on the phone was super nice, which gave me a glimmer of hope.
When the pizza I ordered in advance was done, I couldn’t believe my eyes and tastebuds.
I devoured that pizza. It was AMAZING. The crust was crispy on the edges, chewy in the middle, and actually tasted like…pizza! Real, delicious, glorious pizza. I nearly cried. I’m not even kidding.
So, the moral of the story? Don’t give up! The perfect gluten-free pizza in Bangalore does exist. You just gotta be willing to wade through some pretty disappointing ones to find * for me, it was totally worth it.
