So, I finally made it over to that Dim Sum Palace on 2nd Ave the other day. Been meaning to check it out for a while, you know how it is when you hear a place is decent and you just gotta see for yourself.

Walked in, and yeah, it was pretty much what I expected. Not too fancy, just a straightforward spot. Looked like a lot of folks were there for a casual bite, families and friends just hanging out. It definitely had that vibe, you know, where the food is important, but so is just chilling and chatting with people. It’s not just about stuffing your face; it’s kinda like a whole social thing, which is cool.
We sat down and got to ordering. They had all the usual stuff you’d want. We weren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, just get a good taste of their game. Definitely had to get some dumplings. Those were solid, pretty tasty. And the sticky rice, man, that was good. Hit the spot, for sure. My buddy went for some congee, and he seemed happy enough with it. Said it was just right.
I even decided to try their sesame chicken, just on a whim. And you know what? It was actually pretty decent. Sometimes those kinds of dishes can be a bit meh, but this one was alright. Crispy, saucy, what you’d expect. We also got some tea, obviously. You gotta have tea with dim sum, right? It just goes together.
The whole experience was pretty smooth. Service was quick enough, got our food without too much of a wait, even though they seemed kinda busy. They just kept the plates coming. It wasn’t one of those places where you feel rushed, but they were efficient, which I appreciate.
So, what’s the bottom line? I’d say Dim Sum Palace on 2nd Ave is a perfectly fine spot. It’s not gonna blow your mind with anything revolutionary, but if you’re looking for reliable, classic dim sum, it gets the job done. It’s the kind of place you go when you know what you want, and you want it done pretty well without any fuss. I left feeling pretty content, not gonna lie. Would I go back? Yeah, probably if I’m in the area and get that craving again. It’s a solid choice.
