My Dim Sum Adventure at NBC

Right, so this Tuesday morning rolls around and I’m craving some legit dim sum. Saw folks online buzzing about this spot NBC. Figured, why not? Gotta see what the hype is about for myself. Grabbed my keys and headed straight over.

NBC Dim Sum menu top picks? Try these 5 popular dishes now!

Walked into the place around 11, already humming and packed. Loud, busy, just the way a good dim sum joint should feel. Felt a bit overwhelmed looking at the massive menu though. Knew I needed some guidance. Asked the server dude what was flying out of the kitchen the most. He rattled off a few, plus I peeked at what people nearby were practically inhaling.

Here’s what landed on my table – their top sellers according to the buzz:

  • Steamed Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow): First thing I attacked. Super thin, almost see-through wrappers stuffed full of plump, sweet shrimp. Steamed just right. Dipped ’em in that chili soy sauce, absolute banger. No surprise this tops the list.
  • Steamed Pork Dumplings (Siu Mai): Little open-topped beauties. Bright yellow wrappers holding juicy minced pork and shrimp mix. Took a big bite, got that perfect porky-shrimpy combo. Quality.
  • Baked BBQ Pork Buns (Char Siu Bao): Couldn’t resist. Fluffy, slightly sweet baked bun cracking open to show off the sticky, sweet BBQ pork filling inside. Sweet, savory, fluffy goodness all together. Dangerously easy to eat three.
  • Pan-fried Turnip Cake (Lo Bak Go): Ordered this ’cause I saw trays zipping past constantly. Golden crispy outside, soft and savoury inside packed with bits of dried shrimp and ham. Hit it with some sweet chili sauce – flavour bomb.
  • Steamed Rice Rolls with Shrimp (Cheung Fun): Smooth, slippery rice noodle rolls wrapped around crunchy fresh shrimp. Poured that sweet soy sauce all over ’em. Simple, clean, delicious texture.

Snapped a few quick pics in terrible lighting, ’cause priorities. Ate until I was properly stuffed. Worth feeling like I needed a nap afterwards. Overall vibe? Busy, loud, tasty. Solid experience. You want the popular hits? These five won’t let you down. Probably rolling back next week for more Har Gow.
