No Bake Dessert Recipes: Quick & Easy Sweet Treats

Okay, so yesterday I was scrolling through TikTok (as you do), and I saw this video about super easy desserts you can make without even turning on the oven. And, you know me, I’m always down for a quick sugar fix, so I decided to try a couple out today. Here’s how it went down.

No Bake Dessert Recipes: Quick & Easy Sweet Treats

Attempt #1: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

First up, the chocolate peanut butter cups. This seemed ridiculously easy. The video showed like, three ingredients. So, I grabbed my stuff and went for it.

  • Melted some chocolate chips in the microwave. I probably microwaved a little too long, the chocolate was a bit thick.
  • Then, I spooned a little into some cupcake liners.
  • Next, I mixed peanut butter with a little powdered sugar (the video didn’t say how much, so I just eyeballed it…probably too much powdered sugar, actually).
  • Rolled the peanut butter into balls, flattened them a bit and put them on top of the chocolate in the liners.
  • Finally, I covered the peanut butter with more melted chocolate.

Popped them in the freezer for like, an hour. The result? Pretty good! A little too sweet because of my powdered sugar mishap, but the chocolate and peanut butter combo is always a winner. Next time, less powdered sugar!

Experiment #2: No-Bake Cookies

Alright, next up: no-bake cookies. I remember my grandma used to make these when I was little. I was really excited for this one.

  • I started by melting butter, sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Okay, this part was a little tricky. I think I didn’t stir it enough at first because it almost burned on the bottom. Definitely gotta keep stirring!
  • Once it was boiling, I let it go for exactly one minute, like the video said.
  • Then, I took it off the heat and added peanut butter, oats, and cocoa powder. Stirred it all up real good.
  • Dropped spoonfuls of the mixture onto some wax paper.

These took a bit longer to set up than the peanut butter cups. Maybe two hours in the fridge? Anyway, the verdict? They were okay. A little dry, I think. I might have cooked the sugar mixture a tad too long. Next time, I’ll watch it like a hawk.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the no-bake dessert experiment was a success! Both recipes were super quick and easy, even with my little screw-ups. It’s perfect for when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen or heat up the whole house with the oven. I will definitely be making these again, maybe with a few tweaks. I think next time i’ll try adding some sea salt to the peanut butter cups, and maybe some chopped nuts to the cookies.
