Okay, so I was throwing this pirate-themed party for my kid’s birthday, and I wanted to go all-out. You know, make it really memorable. One thing I thought would be super cool was to have themed food labels, like instead of just “chips,” it’d say “Sea Dog Snacks” or something. So I decided to make my own pirate party food labels!

Getting Started
First, I brainstormed a bunch of pirate-y names for the food. This was actually pretty fun. I came up with stuff like:
- “Cannon Balls” for meatballs
- “Walk the Plank” for fish sticks
- “Pirate’s Booty” for gold-wrapped chocolates
- “Seaweed Dip” for spinach and artichoke dip
I just kept going until I had a name for every dish I was planning to serve.
Designing the Labels
Next, I needed to actually make the labels. I’m no graphic designer, so I kept it simple. I opened up a word document. Used that ’cause, well, everyone’s got it, right?
I picked a font that looked kind of old-timey, but still easy to read. Nothing too fancy, just something with a bit of a handwritten feel. I typed out all the food names, making sure the font size was big enough to see from a distance.
Printing and Finishing Up
Then came the printing part. I found some slightly thicker paper, regular paper’s too flimsy, you know? This stuff gave the labels a bit more substance. I printed them out, and then came the slightly tedious part – cutting them all out!

To make them stand up, I just folded each label in half to make a little tent. Easy peasy. And if you have some, use some toothpicks and tape and stick ’em to longer * looked pretty good on the buffet table.
The kids absolutely loved the labels! They thought it was so cool that everything had a pirate name. And honestly, it made the whole party feel a lot more put-together, even though it was a super simple thing to do. Total win!
