Trying Out M&S Party Food
Right, so the other day, figured I’d give some of that M&S party food a go. Been seeing it around, especially during festive times, and always looks decent in the pictures, doesn’t it? Had a couple of friends popping over, nothing major, just a casual thing, so thought, why not make it easy on myself?

Went down to the local M&S Foodhall. Have to say, the selection was pretty overwhelming at first. Loads of little boxes, all promising tasty bites. Spent a good while just looking, picking things up, putting them back down. Decided to grab a mix – you know, some picky bits.
Here’s what I ended up getting:
- Some mini quiches, always a safe bet.
- Those little sausage rolls they do.
- A pack of mini pizzas, looked alright.
- Some kind of cheese bites thing.
- Spring rolls, can’t go wrong there usually.
Got everything home. Most of it just needed bunging in the oven. The instructions on the packs were clear enough, thankfully. Whacked the oven on, laid everything out on baking trays. Simple stuff, really. Didn’t take long to heat it all up. The kitchen started smelling pretty good, which was a promising sign.
Arranged it all on a couple of plates when it was done. Looked quite appealing, I have to admit. Much better than if I’d tried to make it all myself from scratch, that’s for sure. Saved a load of hassle.
The Taste Test
So, the moment of truth. My mates arrived, and we tucked in.

The mini quiches? Yeah, they were decent. Good flavour, nice pastry. Thumbs up for those.
Sausage rolls were okay. Not mind-blowing, but perfectly edible. A bit small, maybe, but I guess that’s the point of party food.
Mini pizzas were a bit underwhelming, to be honest. Base was a tad soft, toppings were sparse. Probably wouldn’t get those again.
The cheese bites – whatever they were called – were surprisingly good! Crispy on the outside, cheesy goo inside. Went down very well.
Spring rolls were standard. Crispy, decent filling. Did the job.

Overall, it wasn’t bad at all. Made hosting super easy, which was the main goal. Some bits were better than others, obviously, but that’s usually the way with variety packs. The cheese things and the quiches were the winners. Would I do it again? Yeah, probably for convenience. It beats spending hours in the kitchen when you just want a relaxed evening with friends. Saved me a lot of effort, and most of it tasted pretty good. Job done.
