So, I’ve been kinda paying more attention to gluten-free things lately. Not because I have to, really, but just trying stuff out, you know? See if I feel any different, or maybe just find some new snacks. Anyway, I was in the grocery store the other day, just wandering down the chip aisle like usual.

My eyes landed on those Stax cans. You know, the ones stacked up, looking a lot like Pringles. I remembered hearing someone mention they might have gluten-free options, which honestly surprised me. I always just assumed those kinds of stacked chips were a definite no-go if you’re avoiding gluten.
So, I picked up a tube. I think it was the Original flavor, wanted to start simple. Flipped it around, looking for the ingredients list and that all-important “gluten-free” label. You really gotta hunt sometimes, reading the fine print. Found it! Clear as day, right there on the back, it said gluten-free. Okay, interesting. Decided to give them a shot.
Got them home, and later that evening, figured it was time for a little taste test. Popped the lid off. You get that whoosh sound, same as always. The chips looked pretty much like I expected, thin, curved, stacked neatly.
Trying Them Out
Grabbed one. Took a bite. It had that familiar crispy crunch, maybe a little different texture than I remembered from similar chips years ago, but not in a bad way. Definitely potato-y. The Original flavor was, well, original. Salty, simple, pretty much what you’d expect.
I ate a few more. Checked the ingredients again just to be sure I hadn’t imagined the GF label. Nope, still there. It felt weirdly normal, just eating a chip like that and knowing it fit the gluten-free bill.

- Checked the label in the store.
- Confirmed it said “Gluten-Free”.
- Bought the Original flavor.
- Opened and tasted them at home.
- Confirmed the taste and texture were decent.
Bottom line? They tasted like, well, Stax chips. Crispy, salty, snackable. And the big thing was, they were clearly marked gluten-free, which is great if you’re looking for that. Didn’t have any weird aftertaste or texture issues that sometimes come with GF versions of regular snacks. So yeah, my little experiment worked out. Found another option for a crunchy, salty snack that happens to be gluten-free. Probably wouldn’t eat the whole can in one sitting, but definitely good to know they’re out there.
